Indijination
Indijination is an odyssey; personally, geographically, an acoustically. Over the course of this CD you will travel through the steaming rainforests and lively coastal cafes, wander from Africa to Tibet’s ancient monasteries and journey from the hills of Eastern Europe to the bustling streets of the United Kingdom. It has taken more than two years to compile the music on this disc, not to mention several hundred thousand miles. It’s acoustic variety is due to the talents and generosity of the many musicians that I have been privileged enough to have worked and laughed with along the way. To claim sole responsibility for the compositions on the CD would be a gross misjustice as its tracks are expressions of many voices, not just one. At the core of the CD is an extraordinary instrument. It belongs to the indigenous peoples of Northern Australia and has been responsible for some of the most significant events of my life. I am extremely grateful for the knowledge and support that many members of Australia’s Aboriginal community have given me over the years, both formally and informally, and I play this instrument with the deepest respect for the cultures that lie at its roots. If you find the voice of the didgeridoo compelling, please use whatever means that you have at your disposal to broaden your understanding of Australia’s indigenous peoples. Knowledge is indeed power-the power to create positive change through cross-cultural association. It is my deepest wish that this music will in some way play a small part in soundtracking this conscious evolution. *A portion of the proceeds generated
from the sale of Indijination is contributed to an Australian Aboriginal
cultural development fund. For more information, please refer to

About the Author/Composer Phillip is a self-taught musician with dubious musical roots. His career as a musician began with a Canadian University folk band called “Blackberry Wine” in 1988. After a few years of singing and playing guitar in the beer-soaked student pubs of eastern Canada, he began busking further afield, until his travels brought him to Australia, where he taught himself how to play the didgeridoo. For the next few years, Phillip travelled around Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, busking, and leading didgeridoo-playing workshops. Although now an Australian citizen and resident of Byron Bay in northern New South Wales, Phillip is currently living in Brighton in the UK where he continues to busk, gig with Jambience, lead workshops, and record.
